Yes, the rumors are true. I've been making pots out of earthenware (also known as terra cotta or brick clay). Using stoneware and the wood kiln is still in my future, but for now I am happy to work on the opposite end of the sprectrum. I am using terra sigillata on the outside (a clay slip that can be buffed to a slight sheen) and glazing the insides clear to show off the red clay. I did a bunch of tests with this while at Watershed using their native clay. I'm still using the recycled scraps of that clay. I do a lot of carving and it goes into a bin to be reclaimed: nothing goes to waste.

I just listed a chalice in the shop called Amber Cycle. I just got the computer kiln hooked up here and it's ready to fire! If any of you ever need a kiln wired into a panel (or just need an electrician) in or around Worcester County in MA, I recommend this guy. His name is Fran Vincent and his number is (774) 696-8936.

Also here, there is a new serving bowl up, a new tumbler up, a new five by five tile, and a new cup. There is also now a listing of Shows up, but currently only past shows are listed. What's new at ccceramics.com? This website for starters. Bare with me as most of the site is not yet gone back up, for now just the home page and this updates page. I'll keep you posted! My studio and I have both moved to Douglas, MA. Eventually, the studio will sport a small fastfire wood kiln out back. Eventually, the studio will be spacious, clean, and sport a display area for people dropping by to browse or buy. For now, it's a basement and a whole lot of work!
